Per the terms and conditions of race registration, refunds and deferrals are not allowed. However, we try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible so under certain conditions these will be allowed at the discretion of the Race Director. Remember, race logistics are inherently complex, especially in the case of trail races, where we are under the additional constraints of weather and park usage. Therefore please keep this in mind if you’re thinking about requesting a change as it hinders our ability to produce a quality event for everyone.
Change Distance/Events
If you need to change events, you are able to do so through the registration page by managing your registration. This makes it easy to add or subtract distance(s) as needed. CLICK HERE for a brief tutorial. Event transfers are available free of charge until the Friday one week prior to the race. Event transfers made after that date incur a $10 fee. All event transfers must be done online, and are only available if the event is not sold out.
Transfer your Registration to another Trail Series Event
If are injured or unable to participate and would like to transfers your race registration to another Big River Trail Series Race, please CLICK HERE to learn how. Race transfers are available for $10 (plus RSU fees) until four weeks prior to the race. Additionally, transfers are only permitted to an event with open registration.
Transfer your registration to another person
Please use the “Manage My Registration” link in your confirmation email to transfer your registration to another person. You can learn more about that by CLICKING HERE Transfers to another person must be done online, and cost $10 per transfer.

Circumstances for Cancellation or Postponement: By definition, all unforeseeable events or occurrences that may affect BRRM events cannot be succinctly defined. BRRM acknowledges that its events are in the Midwest where cold and icy days are common in the winter and hot and windy days exist in the summer. As such, BRRM events shall occur come rain, snow or shine because BRRM understands the training and expense participants have invested in competing in BRRM races and training.
However, sometimes unusual events — weather and otherwise — demand changes. The health and safety of BRRM participants and the community at large, are the overarching criteria BRRM will follow in deciding whether a race should be postponed or cancelled. We look to be good partners with our hosts, the state and county parks, and they ultimately have final decision of cancellation or postponement of any event.
