Points are calculated based on a % of best finish time for overall male and overall female (for example, overall male’s time / your time x 300 points) AND based on a % of best finish time for age division (overall age division time / your time x 200 points).
Example: The overall male finisher in the Wild in the Woods 10 mile wins 300 points for gender overall win + 200 points for age division win = a total of 500 points. Your points would be gender winner time / your time X 300 points + age division winner time / your time x 200 points.
(Tip: if you are working with different increments of time like hours, minutes and seconds, make sure you convert them all to smallest increment of time before doing your calculations, for example, a finish time of 50:16 would be 3,016 seconds)
